¡Hola-y-welcome (Bienvenida)

Bienvenida todos. Soy Mexicana from the United States, I was raised by my Mother who is not Mexican so I did not grow up with the language, I am trying to learn Spanish, please forgive me if I make some mistakes. My Mexican family was very Indian on my Grandmothers (Abuelita) side of the family, her parents were Purepecha(Tarascan) My great grandparents came from a Tarascan Village in Michocan. They settled here in the United States at the turn of the century. I look forward to meeting others from different cultures. I believe we are (somos una ~unido~) one people united by this Earth we call home.
Mi arte es mi poemas. Yo come a escriba Writing gives me much joy, to write about nature and our ancestors, to give a voice to those who may not be heard. I believe we can inspire change one word at a time. Peace and Blessings to all :))

Ancient Ones:

It is hauntingly beautiful where ruins lie
in the golden hue of the sun

The bones of our ancestors, long ago
turned to dust
We are standing where they once grew flowers
and performed their sacred dances

Sometimes we forget who they were
and who we are
But when the dancing starts and the drummers
drum
The ancient ones sing to me
and my heart soars
Knowing where I stand is
sacred, once again
